About Daddy-D

Born and residing on Harbour Island, a small out island of the Bahamas, Devon Sawyer, (a.k.a Daddy D), has always had dreams much larger than life itself. As a child, Devon found inspiration in music. He loved the emotions music brought out in him and developed a fascination for music of all genres. Constantly searching for new sounds, rhythms and artists, Devon started to build an eclectic musical collection. Devon spent much of his adolescence hanging around local DJ's, admiring them and carefully observing their skills, while developing his own. Always a quick learner, Devon practiced, and eventually played on his own. Over time, Devon was able to hone his passion for music and eventually develop this into a career as a DJ on Harbour Island. He quickly became a nightlife sensation.

The worldly sounds he developed distinctly set him apart from his predecessors. Ultimately, this allowed him to develop relationships with people from around the globe, giving him the opportunity to build a name for himself outside of his community and allowing him to share his musical gift with people from all walks of life.

Naturally, growing up on a small Bahamian Island exposes one to life on the water from a young age. Passing time playing in the bay, or fishing off of the docks, Devon developed many aquatic skills. He became a Dive Master at the young age of 19. He then realized his love for the great waters of the Atlantic was more fulfilled spending days fishing rather than 10,000 leagues under the sea. Devon's admiration for the deep blue grew into a daytime career, becoming a Fishing Charter Captain, cultivating life long relationships with people, expanding himself and his brand in multiple dimensions.

With his experience and dedication, Devon has been able to maintain his mantra of "Fishing by day, Music by night". March of 2009 brought about a new adventure for Devon, the opening of his own nightclub and bar, "Daddy D's". With spring break in full force, the opening of his bar was a huge success, attracting tourists and locals alike, for nightly debauchery and fun. The bar is also the first of its kind on the Island, with a nightly DJ, high-end liquor selection and a whole lot of dancing. Due to Devon's vast following from all his years as a DJ, there is always a fun crowd and good vibes at "Daddy D's". Differing from his nightlife competitors, Devon understands his clients and regularly exceeds their expectations to create a nightlife experience that hasn't existed on the island until now. Devon "Daddy D" Sawyer, and all that makes up his unique persona, has clearly become an institution on Harbour Island.
